Giuseppina Marano is currently a research fellow in History of Religions at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. She explores the documentary culture of sacred spaces in the Greco-Roman world, focusing specifically on the practices and places of record-keeping and document display within sanctuaries in Greece and Hellenistic and Roman Asia Minor. Previously, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Münster, within the framework of the Cluster of Excellence « Religion und Politik ». She obtained her PhD (October 2019 – December 2023) in Classical Studies through a joint program between Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès and Universität Münster (supervised by Corinne Bonnet and Achim Lichtenberger), taking part in the activities of the ERC Advanced Grant 741182 “Mapping Ancient Polytheisms. Cult Epithets as an Interface between Religious Systems and Human Agency”, led by Corinne Bonnet. Her doctoral research, which investigates the naming practices of Zeus in the Near East during the Hellenistic-Roman era, is the topic of a forthcoming monograph
