C’est avant tout en tant que dramaturge et auteur de théâtre, mais aussi en ma qualité d’auteur associé à la direction du Théâtre Dijon Bourgogne , Centre Dramatique National que j’ai souhaité apporter, autant que faire se peut, une tentative d’éclairage de ce que re-présente le « terrain » dans ma pratique artistique.
Cet essai autour du terrain, comme source et ressource créative, se nourrit de mes expériences lors d’un travail sur le théâtre noir au Brésil commencé en 1995 ainsi que de très nombreux terrains réalisés depuis lors au Brésil, au Burkina Faso et au Sénégal.
