Since she joined the Andalusian Centre for Iberian Archaeology (CAAI-UJAEN), in 1999, Carmen Rueda Galán has been linked to this excellence group that focuses on research into the archaeology of the Iberian societies. It is in this context that she developed my DEA work and, having received an FPU grant (2003-2007), her doctoral thesis (European mention and extraordinary doctorate award). Within this framework, she undertook stays at the Università di Perugia, the Università di Cagliari and the CSIC Institute of History and took part in international (AREA; EPOCH) and national (Baecula) projects.
Her postdoctoral period began with a postdoctoral contract at the Spanish School of History and Archaeology of Rome (CSIC), which was followed by a grant for postdoctoral mobility, MICINN R+D+i Plan 2008-2011. Between 2008 and 2011 (34 months), she continued her research, joining in fully with the Spanish and European research actions and projects (DressID. Clothing and identities; Transformation and continuity in Iberian Contestania and Bastetania; Study of the Hannibalic war scenarios of Numistro and Grumentum).
In 2011 Carmen Rueda Galán obtained a contract under the Juan de la Cierva programme. That contract was followed by another that was part of the UJA Consolidation Plan (FEDER) and the one more in the R+D+I Projects Programme, Challenges in Research JIN-2014. She is currently Contracted Ramón y Cajal (RyC 2017-22122). In total, she has benefitted from more than 14 years of post-doctoral contracts achieved through competitive calls.
She has participated as a researcher in more than 25 competitive projects (Baecula, CARARE, CATA, GENDAR, etc.), been principal researcher in 11 of them. They were all obtained through competitive calls, demonstrating her ability to attract resources. She emphasize, within the line in which the current project is requested, that she has been IP of the Project 3D y SIG para la interpretación y difusión de un acontecimiento histórico-arqueológico: la Batalla de Baecula en el camino de Aníbal (HAR2014-59008-JIN, MICINN) ; Iliturgi: Conflicto, Territorio y Paisajes Sagrados (Consejería de Cultura de la Junta de Andalucía) ; RitualPaths. Metodología arqueológica para el análisis de la movilidad ritual en los paisajes religiosos de época ibérica (ss. V-III a.n.e.). She has also participated in international activities as a researcher and member of international projects in the framework of European programmes of recognised prestige: Programa Marco, ICT Policy Support Programme, Culture 2000 Programme, ERASMUS+.
