Auteur : Jaime Vives-Ferrándiz Sánchez

Jaime Vives-Ferrándiz Sánchez holds a PhD degree from the University of Valencia (2005; Extraordinary PhD Award). He has been Curator at the Museum of Prehistory in Valencia since 2004. His interests focus on the Western Mediterranean during the first millennium BCE, colonial situations, urbanisation processes and the social and material reproduction of Iron Age Iberian communities. He has directed funded projects by national agencies and has been involved in other national and international projects. Currently he conducts research at the Iron Age settlement of La Bastida de les Alcusses (Moixent) and at the necropolis of La Cua II (Llíria). He has been exhibition curator of different displays about Iberian Iron Age archaeology and the editor of the exhibition catalogues. He develops heritage projects in Iron Age sites open to the public in the province of Valencia. He is the editor of the journal Archivo de Prehistoria Levantina and the Series Trabajos Varios del SIP.

The 1st millennium BC in the western Mediterranean was a period marked by significant social and economic changes. Deriving from a surge of connections within the Mediterranean, these changes are evidenced by new settlement patterns, technological innovations and the emergence of complex social and political organisations.
